During the first year of the App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch, games and entertainment dominate the list of most-downloaded applications.
Zagat To Go's carefully compiled restaurant reviews may be ready for the iPhone and iPod Touch, but its delivery is only half-baked.
Apple released a number of lists today that detail what iPhone users have downloaded the most since the App Store launched on July 11, and the results might just surprise you. With about 10,000 applications available today, the obvious paid Apps that floated to the top were games, like Sega's Super Monkey Ball and Apple's own Texas Hold'em.
A group of amateur developers has ported the Linux operating system to Apple's iPhone and iPod touch devices. Members of the iPhone Linux development team revealed in a blog posting that they had installed a working version of the Linux kernel on the handsets. The software must be installed by the user, and exists largely as proof that Linux can be ported to the handset.
Could Google's Android operating system make its way to the iPhone, too? Maybe.
